Weird stuff i came across while reading cases...
On a complaint by a tenant that the room was too noisy and that the soundproofing sux:
"Clause B4 of Ms Baxter's agreement says: "The council shall not interfere with the tenants' rights to quiet enjoyment of the premises during the continuance of the tenancy." Read literally, these words would seem very apt. The flat is not quiet and the tenant is not enjoying it."
Starting line of another case:
"My Lords, this is a most unfortunate litigation, in which the costs must far exceed any sum there may be at stake. A little common sense would have settled all these differences in a few minutes."
