i've just realised 2 things; i keep talking abt myself and my probs to 1 fren, and in turn forget to listen; and the brohood haven met up in quite a while.
being in BTC means u r really isolated. the brohood is split along NUS/NTU lines, and within NUS itself, i dun even see the rest of them often. i dun live in Sheares, and there's no chance of bumping into them at arts canteen at all. We all should meet up soon, though soon will prob mean after the exams..
and to my other fren. i shall talk less and listen more.

Weird stuff i came across while reading cases...
On a complaint by a tenant that the room was too noisy and that the soundproofing sux:
"Clause B4 of Ms Baxter's agreement says: "The council shall not interfere with the tenants' rights to quiet enjoyment of the premises during the continuance of the tenancy." Read literally, these words would seem very apt. The flat is not quiet and the tenant is not enjoying it."
Starting line of another case:
"My Lords, this is a most unfortunate litigation, in which the costs must far exceed any sum there may be at stake. A little common sense would have settled all these differences in a few minutes."

SILK
Silk is a scary, but ultimately pointless movie. I got pretty spooked out by a few scenes, esp when the boy ghost started killing pple (yeah buddy if u r reading this u finally got ur revenge for Ju-on). However, the scary parts were far too little, and then there was this very minor issue of plot. I mean, where the fuck is the plot??? Small wonder that my buddy came out of the cinema asking me why the boy keeps killing pple. I wonder if the 50 odd pple in the cinema were thinking the same way too..

just realised that i've been watching weird movies recently. Caught The Prestige on fri. that was seriously one sick movie. Pple went out of the movie thinking of the bird, but i kept thinking why the hell can someone stomach the thought of drowning himself every night for 100 nights?!
Caught Deathnote today. The premise of the movie is rather interesting. It centres around a notebook called Deathnote, and when u write a person's name in it the person will die within 40s. u can even specify the events leading up to his death. Rather interesting, until the male protagonist started being a bit psycho and write his gf's name in, in a bid to escape detection from some genius detective named "L".
Will be watching the sino-jap ghost movie Silk tmr. I got a feeling that it will be another weird movie. Oh well, watching it with my buddy sort of compensates for it i guess.

Why Novus? As certain pple said, its damn muggerish to put a law term as ur blog add when you r in law sch. But well, for those who didnt already noe, Novus Actus Interveniens refers to an intervening act that breaks the chain of causation. Pure fancy words, but i do think its rather meaningful. Its as if at times u wish that the lousy events or bad luck will be broken by an intervening act. Since a blog is mostly used to gripe about bad stuff, i do hope that after griping abt it, an intervening act will occur and bring new perspectives to it.

Its time to revive my blog. Haha i decided to delete the previous one as it was getting too "weighty", and it got to a point where i pretty much had nothing to write. That law sch is especially busy has something to do with it too. I thought i might as well delete it if it was inactive.
But oh well, u just need an avenue to gripe nowadays, and short of doing it in the car all the time, the place to gripe is here.
